Hope Helps
|
For Lemon Oil: If the surface has an
accumulation of old polish, first remove it
with a cloth moistened with mineral spirit (paint
thinner).
For Refinisher: Carvings, Turnings and
Crevices: Take an old bristle brush and cut
the bristles down to a stub. Dip the brush in
Refinisher and work the old finish of the carvings
with the brush. Be sure to wear protective goggles
to keep spatters from your eyes.
For 100% Tung Oil: Do not apply 100%
Tung Oil over an existing finish, nor over polish
or grease. All of these must be removed
because the oil must penetrate into the wood.
Some people apply Hope's Tung Oil full strength,
but we recommend that you thin it. This will
give you greater coverage and help the oil penetrate.
We find that the ideal way to thin is... 1/2
Tung oil and 1/2 paint thinner.
Polish Tips: Start with a clean dry
surface before applying polish. Working with
a small area, apply polish directly on the surface.
Immediately wipe up excess polish with paper
towel.
When polishing stainless steel, rub with the
grain.
Using a new paper towel, buff to a nice shine.
5 Tips for Perfect Glass:
-
Use a premium glass cleaner
and avoid formulations with ammonia or vinegar.
Check labels for the two common ingredients
which can cause streaks. Ammonia may also
damage tinted windows, frames and other surfaces.
-
Use cheap paper towels.
Premium paper towels may be more absorbent
but can contain wetting agents, dye and other
additives, which may rub off on glass to cause
streaks. And forget newspapers since they
tend to leave ink smears on surfaces and hands.
-
Use plenty of glass cleaner
and paper towels. To get the best results
with minimal effort, thoroughly wet the surface
with glass cleaner then use two paper towels
at a time to clean. When paper towels are
saturated and dirty, throw them away and start
fresh with a couple more.
-
Work quickly, especially
on hot, sunny days. Heat causes glass
cleaners to evaporate faster so divide large
areas into smaller ones. Thoroughly clean
each section before moving on to the next
one.
-
Keep it clean. Dirt
attracts more dirt so take care to keep surfaces
clean - especially exterior windows. Dirt
left over time becomes harder to remove and
some types can etch the glass causing permanent
damage.
